iBall Slide Tablet Launched For Rs 13,995


Computer peripherals manufacturer iBall has launched its first Android based tablet named ‘Slide’ in the Indian market. Priced at Rs. 13, 995, this will be another entrant in the budget tablet market.

Slide boasts of a 2 megapixel front camera, USB host and HDMI output. The tablet will pack 8GB built-in memory which can be expanded up to 32GB. What’s more is that it is powered by 1GHz ARM Cortex-A8 processor and will run on Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS. For connectivity, iBall Slide will come with Bluetooth, WiFi and 3G (via Dongle, not built-in).


The company also claims that iBall Slide will offer up to 6.5 hours of music and up to 5 hours of video. HD quality video and 3D games are also supported on the iBall Slide. Visual search, voice actions, web browsing, e-mail, chat, social networking, music , e-book and several other applications from the Android market are also available on the Slide.

Sandeep Parasrampuria, director, iBall said, "The world-wide market is phenomenally rising for Tablet PCs and is expected to reach 175 million units by 2014. iBall Slide is power packed with technology and features and we are sure iBall Slide will make the Indian consumer enjoy the ride."

Best is that Bollywood actor Hrithik Roshan has been roped in as the tablet’s brand ambassador. "We wanted a personality that encapsulated the product's aspects in real life and hence we chose Hrithik Roshan as brand ambassador for iBall Slide. Hrithik is a perfectionist, innovator, stylish, trendy and promising which are very similar to the philosophies of iBall." Sandeep said.

The product will be made available in the next few days across stores in India.
