SAP to Reimburse $20 million to Oracle

SAP will be reimbursing $20 million against the investigation it has been facing over downloading Oracle’s file, the sources have revealed.

SAP has been charged with unlawful downloading of Oracle software files and now it has decided to resolve the case by paying the lump sum amount to its rival Oracle for the crime it has committed.

Oracle and SAP are the close competitors and last week, the U. S. Department of Justice prosecutors had accused SAP’s invalid unit TomorrowNow Inc with 12 criminal activities due to its involvement in downloading the Oracles files illegally.

Last year, SAP was charged to pay $1.3 billion over accusations for downloading the files and later the payment was decided at $272 million.

Both SAP and Oracle has remained silent and has not disclosed their strategy in dealing with the matter.
The next plea has been scheduled on September 14 and till then details will not be disclosed about the decision approved by the court.

Meanwhile, IBM is quite stronger than SAP and has been thinking to web up with SAP and due to their different dealings they would not have the problems with Sap, like Oracle has had.
