New Delhi: The National Investigation
Agency (NIA) sources on Friday told CNN-IBN that the e-mail supposedly
sent by the Indian Mujahideen claiming responsibility for the Delhi
blast has been traced to West Bengal even as a third e-mail surfaced
warning of an attack in Ahmedabad. However, efforts are still underway
to trace the IP address of the Indian Mujahideen e-mail.
The third e-mail sent to Delhi Police was in codes which had to
be deciphered to reveal the target as Ahmedabad. The e-mail threatens an
attack in the Gujarat capital. Gujarat, specifically Ahmedabad has been
put on a high alert. Union Home Minister P Chidambaram, meanwhile, also
advised other states to remain vigilant."This is to inform you that we Indian Mujahideen claims the terror attack on Delhi High Court. I just want you to pass a message to the Indian government that next blast will be so cruel that you people won't be able to forget it for decay (decades) and if you are willing to know the next attack it is 1,8,5,13,4,1,2,1,4 till you come to know what it stands for the next blast will be done if you have any question get back soon because we don't have time for anything," the e-mail sent from the id kill.india@yahoo.com reads.
The numbers were decoded to reveal Ahmedabad as the target as per the e-mail.
Sources say that the e-mail has been traced to Moscow, which seems to be a shadow route to camouflage the location of the real senders.
Delhi blast: All four reports contradictory
Meanwhile, Preliminary forensics report on the Delhi High Court blast that contradict each other sent to NIA. Home Ministry and NIA received forensic reports from Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) Gandhinagar, CFSL Hyderabad, CFSL Delhi and the National Security Guards.
Sources say all four reports contradict each other. The only common point between the four reports is that a nitrate-based compound was used in the Delhi blast. While one report says that Research & Department Explosive (RDX) was used, others claim that the explosive device had pentaerythritol tetranitrate (PETN). NIA has now asked for a final report from all the four labs.
After the (Harkat-ul-Jihad-al-Islami) HuJI e-mail originating from Kishtwar claiming responsibility, a new mail allegedly from the Indian Mujahideen emerged on Thursday taking responsibility for the blast. The Delhi Police have announced Rs 5 lakh reward for anyone who can provide a lead.
The person who sent the e-mail claiming that the Delhi High Court blast was carried out by HuJI has been traced and is being questioned, Chidambaram claimed on Friday.
On Thursday morning, the investigators had identified a cyber cafe in Kishtwar near Jammu from where the e-mail claiming responsibility by HuJI was allegedly sent.
The death toll from Wednesday's blast now stands at 13. Two of the 91 injured remain in a critical condition. The NIA, which is spearheading the probe into the blast, has deatined five people for questioning so far.
