4G services to arrive in India in January

It seems even though while 3G is struggling in India, the country is all set to roll out its 4G services. The first stop is Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh while Bhopal will be the first city to launch 4G services. The whole credit for this initiative goes to a UK based company ‘Augere’, which has announced its plan to launch the 4G service in India by the beginning of the January.

According to the Mobile Indian, during the auction of the 4G services Augere won the BWA (broadband wireless access) spectrum for Madhya Pradesh circle last year. Another big player, Reliance Communication had also earlier announced its plan of bringing 4G or LTE to India by january.

The LTE technology is capable of transferring data upto 100 Mbps speed. Augere has even selected its partner, Ericsson for network roll out and maintenance. The good part about the LTE technology is that it also supports the 3G (CDMA and GSM) networks. So, incase if your 4G connection is not activated then you can stay on the 3G network.

Raipur, Gwalior and Durg are the other cities in the pipeline that will soon catch the 4G fever. We expect other big players like Aircel has (8 circles), Tikona Wireless has (5 circles), Airtel (4 circles) and Qualcomm (4 circles) to hop on the 4G bandwagon soon.
