Volkswagen has opened up a whole new world for those who love the brand and its cars by launching Planet Volkswagen. This digital property will be launched officially on October 17, 2011.

Its biggest digital initiative so far, Planet Volkswagen will not only act as a platform for product information, Brand information and services but also a universe of fun and entertainment for every car enthusiast from all age groups.

Commenting on the launch of Planet Volkswagen, Lutz Kothe, Head Marketing & PR,Volkswagen Passenger Cars, Volkswagen Group Sales India Pvt Ltd said “With a rich heritage and a brand that has given some of the most loved cars in the world, this initiative is our effort to present the world of Volkswagen to all those who love celebrating cars.”

Planet Volkswagen will not only showcase the world of Volkswagen in a 3 dimensional digital space but also allow and engage the user to explore information on automobiles, exciting drives, games and contests. It will allow them to build their own community using social media channels like facebook, twitter and you-tube.
This would enable Volkswagen to create evangelists and generate positive word of mouth.

While the current digital properties in Planet Volkswagen are Think Blue, Text Drive, Volkswagen Play, Volkswagen Corporate, Volkswagen Junior, the company is planning other digital properties like Dream Destinations, Virtual Factory Tour, Design Democracy.
