Madonna has spoken out against the Italian government; in particular its scandalous Prime Minister, Silvio Berlusconi, who is preparing to go on trial for engaging in sexual relations with an underage prostitute.
She made the remarks during the Venice Film Festival at which her new movie W.E. premiered:
"What do I think about Berlusconi? I wouldn't like to talk about it now. But didn't The Economist say it all?"
The pop star was referring to a recent issue of the financial magazine, the title of which declaimed that Berlusconi was the "man who screwed an entire country."
Meanwhile, the "Material Girl" has said that her fans should expect a new album in the spring of 2012; in addition, a new single should drop in February or March.
