Xperia Neo - V
Xperia Pro
Sony Ericsson has announced the official launch of
the latest entrants in their Xperia series of smartphones, the Xperia
neo V and the Xperia Pro. The Xperia Pro continues the trend of the
earlier ‘Pro’ versions of the smartphone i.e. the Xperia Mini Pro and
the X10 Mini Pro and has a slider keyboard but the major change is the
screen size that will be a massive 3.7-inch with a resolution of 854 x
480 pixels. It runs on a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and has an 8
megapixel camera with LED flash. The camera supports HD recording as
well. Sony Ericsson has also bundled in a VGA front camera for video
calling and self portraits.
- 3.7-inch LED-Backlit touchscreen with 480 x 854 pixels resolution
- 3G, Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Hotspot, DLNA
- GPS with A-GPS support
- Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP
- 8 megapixel camera with autofocus and LED Flash
- VGA secondary camera
- HDMI Port
- 3.5 mm audio jack
- Stereo FM Radio with RDS
- Internal Memory of 1 GB, expandable to 32 GB
The neo V on the other hand, has a 1GHz processor and a 5 megapixel rear camera. The front camera will be a VGA one. Both phones will run on Google’s 2.3 Gingerbread operating system. Now, that Ice Cream Sandwich has released, it does seem a little weird that Sony Ericsson are launching their phones with a ‘relatively older’ operating system.
